Moore
Artist
Biography
Kevin Moore was born in the North West of England in 1967. He studied Fine Art at Hull School of Art in East Yorkshire and later continued his Post Graduate study at Goldsmiths, University of London.
Working predominantly in oils and printmaking, Kevin’s artwork is rooted in observational study. Initially through plein air paintings and sketches taken from life, Kevin is inspired by his surrounding landscape and he relishes the opportunity to evoke a sense of place. The immediacy of markmaking that is created through the process of working directly from observation aims to communicate more than a visual record. Kevin’s personal response and connection with his subject culminates in larger compositions created in his artist's studio. His layered brushstrokes, marks and textures combine to convey a sense of being caught in the moment. Kevin aims to express a deeper engagement and connection with his subject, capturing light, colour, space and movement to celebrate the experience of place, our fragile existence, a moment in time and being there.
